It is better to give than receive. This is especially true of a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick. (see http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Norris) This is also true w.r.t. the upcoming campaign … must think of something quick ..
This is a radio station that I created. Yep, you heard me right. What plays here are determined by what I have told pandora as what I like to listen to (while I’m at work at anyways). It’s a pretty neat service and you can define and share your own radio station too! Check it out here here
My new lens arrive today. It’s basic, has fixed focal length (i.e. no zoom zoom) is light and fast. Todd was available and kind enough to pose for me this afternoon when it arrived in the mail. So far, lovin it … now I need to find some willing subjects to try some portraits
It’s pretty amazing what software can do these days. Live Writer allows you to easyly integrate maps into blog entries. Flickr allows you to geo-tag your photo collection (check it out .. the UI is sna-zz-yyy!!) There are obviously privacy concerns and these services do a reasonable job trying to educate their users. Location. There is also a very nice piece of software by a company called ShoZu, which allows you to take a photo with most camera phones and immediately upload it to a blog or online photo album. Now all I need is for them to integrate with the GPS on my phone and do the tagging for me. What’s next?
I’ve posted the pictures on flickr (Rated PG13 for some painted nudity and foul language). You can see a slide show or individual photos by clicking below.
Ever wished you had an easy way to share all those pictures you were snapping away with your camera phone? Look no further, ShoZu is here. http://www.shozu.com/
This is the best thing that happend to my Windows Mobile SmartPhone since, .. well, since I got it. The first time I tried it, my phone ran out of space so I had to first add a mini-SD card. At amazon, that was ~$50 for a 1GB mini-SD card. Then I went to ShoZu again and downloaded and installed the software. It works great. You snap that spur of the moment picture with your camera and ShoZu immediately jumps in and asks if you’d like to upload it to the web (I put my photos on www.flickr.com and ShoZu supports a number of the pig photo sharing site that are there today). It’s so cool. Snap! Upload. Snap! Upload. Ad infinitum …
geek note (as if this entire post is not geeky enough) – ShoZu seems to queue and upload the photos asynchronously so your phone does not really get bogged down during the file upload. Nuff said … You can goto http://www.flickr.com/photos/shyamh/ to see what I’ve been snapping at ..
Wednesday 2am. A slice of como bread with marmalade. Hot chocolate. Watching the cat play with an empty can of coke. Peace & Quiet. No one standing at my door. What fun!
So it’s raining. Today it’s mist. Tomorrow they expect rain, showers the day after and more rain all of next week. Umm, maybe it’s better to change my outlook towards rain and think of some with fun things to do when it rains .. perhaps in the rain.
Tan took me to see Cold Play last night. I liked them, but wasnt too crazy about them, but I must say they put up a very good show. The light-effects were pretty cool and I loved the extreme-wide-screen digital screen that spanned the entire width of the stage. The use of cellular phones instead of cigarette lighters was neat too ..
El Crimen del Padre Amaro, a serious theme, done as beautifully as The Motorcycle Diaries. Rent it on NetFlix or your local video store this holiday season.
This movie is a classic, and is in town again at the Varsity (U-District). Go see it!

Yes, SIFF has started. So many good movies all at once. I’m hoping to catch as many as I can. It’s nice that they’ve made the site even easier to navigate. I’ve already shortlisted about 20 Watch out for comments ..
